Introduction

Indicators of physical health are readily available, and the people of Mesa County who selected these measures chose to recognize the interaction between physical and mental well-being.

Based on value statements, individual choices about exercise, weight in relation to body size and age, and substance abuse are also included.

While choices in these areas do not guarantee health, they affect a person's ability to respond to disease or potential safety risks.
