AIR QUALITY
81. Air Quality
Two criteria pollutants are monitored in the Grand Valley: Carbon monoxide (CO) and PM10 (particulate matter less than 10 microns in diameter). The Grand Valley is classified by the EPA as an attainment area, meaning that the allowable limits of criteria pollutants have not been exceeded.
The 1993 increase is due to roof repairs next to the sampler site. The next highest reading was 67 for that year. The maximum reading occurs in the winter for all but 1993 and 1986 when there was high wind in April.
